Children and Young People are so important to us, and our vision is to see them leading Christ-centred lives right from the start. Our main activity for these age groups of the St Mary’s family revolves around our Sunday programme but our children’s work is so much more than just Sundays.
SUNDAY GROUPS AND SERVICES
Unless it’s an All-Age Service at the 10.30am Sunday Service, we have the following groups running for Preschoolers:
(0-18 months old)
(18 months – 3 years old)
(3-4 years old)
The Service Leader will let you know when it’s time for the children to go to their groups. Stewards and the Connect Team will be able to show you where to go for the groups. Preschool groups finish at midday on a Sunday.
Find out what type of service it is this Sunday here: http://www.stmaryreigate.org/sunday-services/
TOT’S PRAISE / MONDAYS
Come and meet Monty Mouse at Tots’ Praise, our fun group for Preschoolers and their parents and carers. Enjoy songs, stories, games and craft (and tea and coffee for parents and carers!). Tots’ Praise happens every Monday during term time in the church building and runs from 10am for about an hour.
TODDLER GROUP / FRIDAYS
Affiliated to St Mary’s is the Toddler Group that runs during term time in the church building every Friday from 10am.
If you’re in Reception at school, then on Sunday mornings, the place to be is in Fireworks. This group runs during the 10.30am Sunday morning service unless that service is an All-Age one.
The Service Leader will let you know when it’s time for the children to go to their groups. Stewards and the Connect Team will be able to show you where to go for the groups. Fireworks finishes at midday.
On Sundays during the 10.30am service (when there’s not an All-Age Service) children in School Years 1 and 2 meet together in their own group called Beacons.
Beacons is a lot of fun and involves teaching, games and craft.
For children in School Years 3 and 4 during the 10.30am Sunday service (when there’s not an All-Age Service) their group is Lasers.
As with all our groups, Lasers involves many different activities with a strong emphasis on learning about God through the Bible and getting to know Him too!
During the 10.30am Sunday service (when there’s not an All-Age Service) children in Years 5 and 6 go to their group Lighthouses.
As with all our groups, Lighthouses involves many different activities with a strong emphasis on learning about God through the Bible and getting to know Him too!
Once a month the Beacons group joins with Lasers and Lighthouses for a “Sports Hall Special”, a morning packed full of amazing things to experience in different zones:
- Balance Zone
- Circus Skills Zone
- Quiet Zone
- Indoor Sports Zone
- Outdoor Sports Zone (if the weather is nice!)
At the end of Sports Hall Special, there’s always a message and a time to chat, reflect and pray.
The Service Leader will let you know when it’s time for the children to go to their groups. Stewards and the Connect Team will be able to show you where to go for the groups. B
YEARS 7 AND 8
The Sunday morning group for those in School Years 7 to 9 is Pathfinders.
We now meet in the Pickard Vestry at the front of Church in the during the 10.30am service (unless there’s an All-Age Service). In the group we take a ‘youth friendly’ look at the subject and / or passage being preached on in the church building.
The group is a lot of fun and there are often lively discussions and chocolate.
SATELLITE GROUPS / WEDNESDAYS
During term time, Year 7 and 8 SATELLITE groups run every Wednesday in the church centre. The Young People are encouraged to go deeper in their faith as they have fun, learn and eat chocolate.
If you have any questions or would like further information about any of our groups, then please contact the Parish Office on 01737 22 11 00 or email

At St Mary’s we have a thriving Girls’ Brigade Company run by Rachel Pearce and her team. Girls Brigade is a uniformed organisation for girls which meets on Friday evenings (6.00 – 7.30pm) for school years R to 13. For more information please contact Rachel at email@example.com.
Girls Brigade is passionate about raising the volume of hope among girls and young people. We do this by providing action-packed, stretching, fun and safe friendship groups for girls and young women to join.
Our aim, as part of the global GB movement is to see lives Girls’ lives transformed; God’s world enriched and key to this is enabling all our girls to develop their skills, explore Christian faith, make friends for life and encounter the hope offered by engaging with God’s offer for us to experience ‘life to the full’.
At Girls Brigade we do lots of activities such as:
- Learning about Christ
- Making friends
